Christopher Lee Costello
Chris Costello was the kind of person who made the world around him a little brighter simply by being in it. He lived with a constant smile, generous spirit, and a heart that was deeply devoted to the people he loved. Whether someone needed a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or simply someone willing to show up, Chris was there. A talented handyman by nature, Chris found genuine joy in helping others by putting his skills to work. But his greatest gift was never what he could build or fix - it was the way he made people feel. He cared deeply about his family, friends, and his community, and he gave himself freely. Chirs's love for others was especially evident on the football field. While still in high school, he stepped up to coach his younger brother's youth football team. What began as an opportunity to support his brother became a passion that he proudly continued for the next eight years. Chris wasn't simply teaching young athletes how to play football; he was helping shape young lives through encouragement, leadership, patience and kindness. The impact he had on those kids extended far beyond the field. Chris was always happiest outdoors. He was an absolute lover of adventure and found his element hunting, fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and enjoying the excitement of dirt track races. He embraced life and found joy in the simple moments that became unforgettable memories.
And then there was his truck.
Some of Chris's happiest moments were spent behind the wheel, windows down, favorite music turned up, singing at the top of his lungs. He would jokingly remind anyone listening that he "always sounded better in the truck" - especially when a Luke Combs song was playing. Those little pieces of Chris - the laughter, the teasing, the enormous smile - are the memories his loved ones held close. On August 11, 2023, Chirs was admitted to the hospital with a diagnoses of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Just days later, on August 14, 2023, he passed away unexpectedly from a pulmonary hemorrhage caused ny the underlying AML. His time was heartbreakingly short, but the life he lived left an extraordinary mark. Chris's legacy is not measured by the years he had, but by the lives he touched. It lives in the young athletes he coached, the family who loved him, and every person who experienced his kindness. The Chris Costello Foundation was created to carry that legacy forward - to transform the generosity Chris showed throughout his life into continued acts of compassion for others. Through supporting out elderly, empowering youth through sports, and providing assistance to individuals and families experiencing sudden loss, we hope to continue what Chris did so naturally: showing up, lending a hand, and making someone's day a little brighter. Chris may no longer be here to sing along from the driver's seat, make everyone laugh, or lend a helping hand - but his spirit lives on in every act of kindness inspired by his life. His smile lives on.His kindness lives on.His love lives on.And through the Chris Costello Foundation, so does his legacy.
